From the outset of the Torch 3.0 Road shoe design process, our goal was to create a performance offering as feature-packed as any top-end shoe. The challenge, however, was pulling this off at a palatable price. In order to achieve this, we utilized three strategically placed materials on the uppers that are welded together—TPU and mesh in the front and synthetic leather in the rear. This makes for a more comfortable and supportive front of the shoe. A stiff rear and heel cup, meanwhile, lock down your heel and keep all of your watts going into the pedals as efficiently as possible. This refined upper is combined with our legendary FACT carbon fiber sole to further ensure an efficient power transfer. Small component with a large impact. A poorly constructed or unsuitable tyre rim tape can be the cause of many punctures. It is especially important with hollow section rims to use a pressure-resistant rim band which covers the entire rim. The fabric-reinforced Continental Easy Tape rim protector is designed for use under high air pressure conditions. The various widths enable a perfect fit for all standard rims. Shimano XTR BL-M9100 Race Hydraulic Disc Brake Levers The Shimano engineers have redesigned the XTR 9100 brake levers from a braking system that had been already the benchmark among mountain bike braking systems. For the BL-M9100 levers both the clamp and the lever body itself have been modified. The clamp moves further into the middle of the lever and is angled. This cleverly supports the outer end of the expansion tank directly on the handlebars and creates an additional counter bearing for lever actuation. This significantly increases stiffness and stability, what ultimately leads to an even more direct brake feeling and improved control. So the BL-M9100 is 10% stiffer than its predecessor, too. Of course, the reach of the lightweight XC brake lever with a magnesium housing is individually adjustable.
